Jack H. Mitstifer, M.D., FACEP
President and Chief Executive Officer
A highly skilled physician, Jack H. Mitstifer brings over two decades of experience in leadership, teaching and Emergency Medicine. He assists clients in the areas of emergency medicine performance improvement, strategic cost production, strategic cost reduction and revenue improvement, physician integration and collaboration, and leadership development. During the successful turnarounds of a 500-bed teaching hospital and a 400-bed community hospital, Dr Mitstifer led as their president.
Dr Mitstifer continues to practice Emergency Medicine in Northeast Ohio where he received the Akron General EM Resident’s award for excellence in teaching and is a Fellow in the College of Emergency Physicians. Previously he served as president of General Emergency Medical Specialists, a democratic ER group, as well as chair of of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Akron General Health Systems. He is the Medical Director of Lifecare Medical Services.
A native of Pennsylvania, Dr Mitstifer received a Bachelor of Arts and his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He served with distinction as a Senior Medical Officer in the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and receiving two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals.
He co-authored two books on healthcare leadership with Integrity Hospital Company partner Michael Rindler: Masterful Medicine and Masterful Leadership.
Residing in Northeast Ohio, Dr Mitstifer enjoys tennis, golf, family travel, and outdoor interests.
